Glimpses of another Tokyo with Mai Yoneyama
As part of a documentary created by the Archipel team, I was able to spend a day wandering around vestiges of another Tokyo with the animator and illustrator Mai Yoneyama. Debuting as an animator with Gainax on the hit anime series Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Yoneyama then joined the Studio Trigger creative team where she served as animation director and character designer on various anime works including Kiznaiver, Kill la Kill, and Promare. More recently she oversaw production of the end credits for the Netflix release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and released Eye, her first collection of original illustrations.
